This is another 1/6th scale 12-inch figure that will be released by Mivi. Earlier Mivi had given us a preview of their "Due Date" 12-inch figure of Ethan and his 1/6th scale dog Sonny (see the preview pictures HERE) and this latest figure is called "The Outsiders". If you google "The Outsiders", you'll discover that "The Outsiders" was a 1983 American drama film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, an adaptation of the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. The film was released in March 1983. The film is noted for its cast of up-and-coming stars, including C. Thomas Howell (who garnered a Young Artist Award), Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane. The film helped spark the Brat Pack genre of the 1980s. But unfortunately, Mivi's 1/6th scale 12-inch figure "The Outsiders" has got nothing to do with Patrick Swayze or any of the brat pack :( Mivi 1/6th The Outsiders 12-inch Figure (300mm tall) will come with 1/6th scale Head sculpt, 12-inch Figure body, High school uniform (consisting of shirt + pants), leather jacket, Black T-shirt, Jeans, and Cloth (canvas) shoes. Accessories will include a diorama base with stand / pole for a boxing sandbag (punching bag), boxing gloves and necklace. The absolutely stunning work of J★RYU resurfaces, adding another piece to his ever-growing "Forest of Sorrows" style. This time around he's tackled something new: a Diana F+ Lomography camera, which we're told is still in full working condition. He's entitled the piece "Los Ojos Ocultos," which translates from Spanish as "The Hidden Eyes," and we're cryptically told that it is for something on June 19th in Los Angeles… though I have no clue what art show this stunning piece could be for.

From the fervent mind of Hugh Rose come the next installment of pieces for the previously announced upcoming "Battle of the Mascots" series. All of Rose's pieces have blindingly perfect stain glass patterning painted upon them, with a detail level so insane that one must question if a human hand alone is capable of such exact work… Absolutely mind-blowing. And the chase variant of the five pieces, pictures dead center, only appears the same on quick examination; closer inspection reveals that the chest design is different & even more detailed as well as the subtle additions to the feet to make the figure truly resemble a medieval structure. Like the rest of the series, any of these would make a great addition to any custom collection. "Battle of the Mascots" will be released on May 22nd at 5PM EST as a set of 50 blind boxed customs, each costing $65, in the Battle of the Mascots online store. The Good Side is represented by Sekure D, Hugh Rose, AlexBreak, Fuller, and MatCanDraw, while the Evil Side consists of Don P, Commandante, Nikejerk, JFury, and JC Rivera.

OH SHOOT!!!! Look what just dropped today, the official roster for the next Art Hustle trading card series... and look at all those fine artists involved! This next series is due out early fall of this year and will feature trading cards exhibiting an international group of over 75 artists working in street art, toy art, kaiju, sketch, illustration, painting, aerosol art, poster art, tattoo art, digital art, collage, sculpture, photography, blog :-) and more. Keep your eyes peeled for artist cards popping up via social networks... as they will all start getting them very soon.

The American fine metals foundry Fully Visual is making the above pictured metal — possibly brass — sculpture from Nathan Hamill's design. Entitled "Kammu," the figures appears to be a proud dragon wearing a kabuto (Samurai helmet) and what appears to be leaf wings. It's all the "Toy Lords of Chinatown" action that you've been waiting for! After the glorious big screen viewing the other night, the world online premiere of Episode 3 has happened, allowing all to bask in the glory that is The Sucklord's creation. By now you have probably seen the upcoming Marvel Studios "The Amazing Spider-Man" 4-minute super preview trailer for the new film starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. So you'll also know that the trailer features Spider-Man's newest enemy / super villain The Lizard rampaging across the city, creating havoc and causing chaos. Then this isn't a spoiler in any way ;p The top genetics expert at Empire State University, Dr Curt Connors thought he had the means and scientific know-how to regrow his missing arm. Connors combined his own DNA with a self-created reptilian formula and inadvertently transformed himself into a vicious monster! With his brilliant intellect clouded by primal instincts, Curt Connors has become The Lizard - a cold-blooded foe for his former student, The Spectacular Spider-Man! The stylized version of the Lizard as seen in the Spectacular Spider-Man animated TV series was released as an action figure by Hasbro in late 2008. I thought the Lizard in the new Spider-Man film looked less like The Lizard from the comics and more like Killer Croc, a former crocodile wrestler (Waylon Jones) turned into a criminal deformed by a birth defect. Problem is: Killer Croc's from DC Comics ;p In the comics, Curtis Connors was a gifted surgeon who enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent off to war. He performed emergency battlefield surgery on wounded GIs, but his right arm was injured in a blast and had to be amputated. After his return to civilian life as a research technologist, Connors became obsessed with uncovering the secrets of reptilian limb regeneration and studied reptilian biology extensively. Connors developed an experimental serum taken from reptilian DNA, ingested it and his missing arm did indeed grow back. The formula had a side effect; Connors was subsequently transformed into a reptilian humanoid monster. Spider-Man discovered this situation during a trip to Florida to investigate newspaper reports of the Lizard after the Bugle challenged him. Spider-Man was then able to use Connors' notes to create an antidote to restore him to his human form and mentality. The Lizard first appears in The Spectacular Spider-Man episode "Natural Selection". When Connors is transformed into the Lizard, his strength is increased to superhuman levels. Likewise, his speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes are also raised to a level equivalent to that of Spider-Man. Dr Connors appeared in the 2002 – 2007 Spider-Man film trilogy but he did not become the Lizard in the franchise. In the films, he is missing his right arm as in the comic book. Brian "KAWS" Donnelly will get to see his Companion design transformed into a balloon and marched alongside Snoopy and Kermit in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The KAWS Companion balloon, which is being constructed in Macy's New Jersey studio, will be 40 feet long, 34 feet wide and 30 feet tall. The other day we announced that Emma SanCartier was preparing to bring her adorably monstrous creation "Ovok" to life as a resin produced piece and was going to use Kickstarter to fund it… The time is now, folks. Her Kickstarter can be viewed HERE and any support you can lend SanCartier would surely be appreciated by her. The unpainted Ovok sculpture will run you $50 while the limited edition "Woodland Ovok" (shown in the pictures) is available at the $150 tier. SanCartier will hand-paint a one-off Ovok around your design preference at the $250 level and for a cool grand you can get an originally sculpted and painted oddFauna creature made just for you! Admittedly, these are a little pricy… but sometimes you just have to look Ovok in his cute little face and say "You're worth it!"

While I love The Simpsons, there's always been something about Matt Groening's other television creation — Futurama — that truly tickled my fancy; perhaps it was the misanthropic and egocentric Bender, the robot we all love to… be hated by. There's something also in the irony of man-made vinyl being formed to resemble wood that pleases me, so you can imagine my reaction to this Kidrobot x Futurama "Wooden Bender" figure. Standing 6-inches-tall, the vinyl piece comes complete with removable red woodpecker accessory and is scheduled to be released on June 7th with a retail price of $50.

Street artist and mixed media maverick Faile was commissioned by VICE and 42Below to transform 104 N. 7th, Brooklyn into a massive exhibit and installation. Featuring an array of his sexy comic collages as well as specially made ceramic tiles, Faile outdid himself in this construction.
